Drs. Barbara and Gordon Freed have been practicing dentistry in Amherst since 1982. They both graduated from the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine, in 1979.
Dr. Barbara Freed has a BA in Biochemistry from Smith College, Northampton, MA, and completed a Residency in Family Dentistry at UConn. Before dental school she worked in a lab at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Gordon Freed has a BS from MIT, Cambridge, MA, in BioMedical and Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Western New England College. He was a dentist in the US Army at Fort Devens, MA, for three years.
They are members of the American Dental Association, Mass Dental Society, and Valley District Dental Society. When not practicing dentistry, the Freeds are involved in a number of musical and community activities. Both enjoy music. Barbara plays the violin with in the Pioneer Valley Symphony, Valley Light Opera, and Panharmonium, an international folk dance band. Gordon has acted with the Amherst Community Theater, and the Valley Light Opera. He sings in Makhela. They invite you to come to their performances! The Freeds have two daughters, BethAnn and Rebecca. BethAnn works in healthcare. Rebecca is a student at UMass in Civil Engineering and plays in the Minuteman Marching Band for UMass.
